Israel was slow in accepting rock music or anything with a beat, considering it "uncultured." Western music seeped in during the late 60's, mainly to working class clubs. This festival, accompanied by political as well as artistic turmoil, marked a turning point. Its groups included singers who became names in their own right, such as Zvika Pick, Yitzhak Klapter, and Uzi Fuchs, and most of the songs, such as "I Who Have Nothing," "Those Were the Days," and "I Say a Little Prayer" were in English. Photos and album covers, as well as history, are in the brochure.
