Children of Chabannes (DVD)

In the tiny village of Chabannes in unoccupied France, more than 400 Jewish children were hidden, schooled, and ultimately saved through the heroic efforts of the citizens, who chose action over indifference. They risked their lives and livelihoods to protect these children, simply because they felt it was the right thing to do. A decade ago the teachers, children and families reunited, to celebrate the heroism and leadership of the school's director, Felix Chevrier. Through photos and drawings from the war, footage of the school and town and, above all, survivors' accounts, they created a lyrical and moving film that told a tale of courage, resilience and love.
